So last night, I saw this:

Loved it. The fact that I'd already written a story along those lines has nothing to do with my appreciation of the above image. Not at all.

One day, when I'm a maths teacher, I would like to dress up as Bellatrix for Halloween (which I have never celebrated) so that the English teachers can warn about the Dark Arts!

Happy Day!

I appear to have the children cowed. A little, at least.

Another thing to note is that I am not a morning person. Not by any stretch. In fact, the morning after my brother's 21st birthday, my cousin's boyfriend tried to joke about my 'hangover.' As I and others told him, though, it wasn't a hangover, I'm like that every morning. When my youngest child was, well, younger, she would point blank refuse to wake me if I was napping. My ex thought it was hilarious. He would tell her to go wake me, and she would shake her head and refuse. Anyone would think I was a little grumpy on being woken. Anyone would be right!

So fast-forward to today. We have my nephew over for the fortnight (save me!) and I've already instructed him about how floors are for feet, and things that are left on the floor (like TV remotes) get stood on and broken, and confiscated the remote for the children's TV for leaving it on when they were off playing (two of my pet peeves about the TV remote.) Well, Mum and Dad had to go out this morning for a doctor's appointment, and I had to get up early (like, 9am early!) to look after my nephew. Dad went to call me, and as soon as my nephew heard he was off like a light babbling about TVs being on and remotes.

I'm so pleased with myself :D

So I want to make this skirt ...

... in black for the main part of the skirt, and with a white panel with red and black embroidery. I would like to do some knotwork - maybe a dragon - or a trailing rose. Interestingly, some of the best work is by tattoo artists, which many people (eg, my parents) would consider very low-brow. There's some amazing artists out there.

The spectacle company add sounds like 'brains!' not 'frames'.

Actually, the only zombie movie I've seen was Zombieland, but A Brief Account of Life with Zombies is hilarous! [Sherlock (2010) fanfic.]

I now have a Pinterest account. Bad idea. Very bad idea.

My first post: what shall I say? Should I dribble on about, well, nothing, or simply introduce myself? This is my non-fanfic page, so maybe a brief introduction.

I am a single mother of three children, living in a three-generation household. That's right, I moved back home to Mother. And Father. Just thought I should mention that. I have an amicable relationship with my ex (really should get around to divorcing him some day) and I love my family. I have 2 girls and a boy, and for those in the Greater South-East of Queensland, beware: my eldest gets her Learners next year. If I didn't have grey hairs before (no comment) I will then.

I'm going back to Uni next year. (How's that for a segue?) Well, in 11 days time, but that's really part-time/external. And I have my first assessment on the 16th. Not that I'm stressing or anything. I'm doing Maths and Physics. I really should have done it first time around, but I was lazy and influenced by peer-pressure. (Do Biochem! I'm doing it, and we can study together!) But Maths is my Wun Twu Wuv!!!!! and it's the language of Physics, so who am I to argue with Twu Wuv! and Soul-Mates! and all that? Please! The quiet screams of 'what the hell am I doing?!' are just a cover for the fact that I'm getting an education. Again.

Well, anyway, I'm going to sign off here. I'm going to try for Nanowrimo this year (should I have signed up already?) and I've started writing something. Fanfic and original fic will be on my other page: [personal profile] misse
